MARRAKECH - OUARZAZATE Day 1

Departs from Marrakech, through Ouarzazate and
to :

Les montagnes du Haut-Atlas. Remparts naturels au sud de la ville impériale. C’est une des plus belles routes de montagne du Maroc. Paysages inoubliables, son col Tizi-n-Tichka s’élève à 2260m d’altitude, c’est le plus haut passage routier du pays.

Mountains of the high Atlas. These natural fortifications, south of the imperial city, offer the most beautiful mountain landscape in Morocco. At 2260m, the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass is the highest road passage in the country.

Visit the notorious GLAOUI kasbah. Follow the Inmiter path (an ancient path used by caravans from Timbuktu on their way to Marrakech), located in the heart of the Valley of the Ounila and the Atlas. Breathtaking landscapes, fascinating and ever-changing colours.

Stopover in Ait Ben-Haddou, Unesco protected village.
Ait Ben-Haddou is a beautiful world heritage Ksar, flooded in a peaceful and calm atmosphere. Sunsets are nothing short of spectacular.

  The village is renowned and valued among film makers worldwide
and was used as a location for film such as “Lawrence of Arabia”.
 

OUARZAZATE – MERZOUGA Day 2

Through either the valley of Dadès or the valley of Drâa.

Valley of Ziz leading to Erfoud through the desert. After a few km of track, the dunes of Merzouga appear, the most beautiful ones are called Ergchbi. First waves of a sea of sand with ever-changing colours and whose peaks draw elegant arabesques.
Overnight stay in a bed and breakfast opposite the dunes.


Visit of Merzouga and typical Saharan oases palm grove.

In the centre of Merzouga, the women still use the old
traditional kiln each morning and young girls meet near
the spring in the cool hours of the day.


MERZOUGA – ZAGORA Day 3

EThe route takes you through Rissani (Morocco’s former economic capital city and the 1st imperial city in the country’s history to be called Sijil Massed).

On the road between Merzouga and Rissani appear small ground monticules belonging to an old underground irrigation system, proof that this desert was once prosperous. The trip continues on the road to Tansikht, then on a track through villages and the valley of the Draâ, to Zagora.


ZAGORA – OUARZAZATE Day 4

Towards the Valley of the Drâa, through Tamnougalte (by track) across villages and palm plantations. Stopover in Agdz and its citadel, an
ideal view point on the beautiful valley of the Drâa. The trip takes you along the Jebel Tifernine road, Eastern foothills of the Anti-Atlas. You will then cross the mountain till you reach Ouarzazate by the Tizi N’ Tinififft pass (1660m).

 OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH Day 5


 Before setting out again after breakfast, possible
visit of Ouarzazate, the kasbah of Taourirte, the
kasbah of Tamesla (known as the kasbah of the
stork). Possible visit of the film studios. Return
through the high Atlas, across mountains and
villages. Arrival in Marrakech.
